Privacy Policy — ReWrite: ME
Last updated: April 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the ReWrite: ME Chrome extension (“Extension,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you install and use it. ReWrite: ME is a side-panel tool that lets you rewrite or improve text using artificial intelligence (AI) providers you choose, with your own API keys (“bring your own key,” BYOK).
If you have questions, contact: support@jaycedl.dev.
1. Summary
No Backend Servers: We do not operate backend servers for this Extension that receive, store, or aggregate your API keys, prompts, or model outputs for our own purposes.
Local Storage: API keys and most of your data stay on your device in Chrome’s local extension storage (chrome.storage.local), unless you explicitly send text to a third-party AI provider.
No Data Selling: We do not sell your personal information. Your data is never used for advertising, credit scoring, or profiling.
2. Who this applies to
This policy applies to anyone who installs ReWrite: ME from the Chrome Web Store or uses it in any supported Chromium-based browser.

The Extension interacts with the clipboard only when you explicitly paste text into the side panel or copy results via the UI. It does not monitor or read your system clipboard in the background.
5. Permissions & Why they exist
